Plastic Commercial Parking Block Installation Methods
Lag Method
There are several ways on how you can install this parking block, and one of which is the lag method.What You'll Need:
- (1) 1/2” x 8” lag bolt to be placed in each hole
- (2) 1/2” washers for each bolt
- (1) 1/2” lag shield anchor for each bolt
- Hammer
- High speed hammer drill with 3/4” masonry bit
- Impact wrench
A lag shield anchor should be inserted in each hole, where a large anchor should be used on the opening top. Using a hammer, tap the anchor into the hole so that it would flush into the surface. The washer should be placed over each anchor hole after.
Once completed, reposition the parking block in the area where it's going to be installed. Slip a washer onto the bold, then insert the bolt through a pre-drilled hole. It should be around three quarters of the way, and maintain a 3/4” socket. This should be repeated on the remaining holes, and don't forget to tighten each bolt until it's snug.
Steel Spike Method
Another method you can try is the steel spike method.What You'll Need:
- (1) 1/2” x 12” plated steel spike to be used on each hole of the parking block
- Sledge hammer
- Hammer drill with 3/8” masonry bit
Remove the block, and drill a hole at each marked location using a 3/8” masonry bit. This would ensure that the asphalt won't get fractured during the process.
Place the parking block in the original position and insert the spike through the pre-drilled hole, until it's snug.
