How Do I Light an Orion Highway Flare?
Orion Safety Flares are easy to light and safe to use when proper steps are followed.
Step-by-Step Instructions
- Remove the plastic lid to expose the scratch sticker on the cap.
- Twist and remove the cap, revealing the black flare igniter button.
- Firmly press the black igniter button against the scratch sticker. Strike away from your face and body, and always aim the flare downward.
Important Safety Note
Once ignited, carefully place the emergency flare on the ground — do not drop it. Never hold the flare upright, as molten residue produced during combustion can drip and cause burns.
