Reflective Tape

DOT-C2 Reflective Tape for Trucks and Trailers:

  1. Visibility Standards:

DOT-C2 reflective tape is required to enhance the visibility of trucks, trailers, and other large vehicles on the road. The reflective tape must meet specific standards to ensure it reflects light effectively, making the vehicle more noticeable to other road users.

  2. Color and Pattern:

The reflective tape should typically be of a conspicuously bright color, such as bright white, bright red, or reflective school bus yellow, to contrast with the vehicle's body color. It often follows a specific pattern, typically a combination of alternating colors in a specific sequence to maximize visibility.

  3. Placement Guidelines:

DOT-C2 reflective tape must be applied in specific locations on the vehicle. Common locations include the sides and rear of the truck or trailer. The tape is often applied in a certain configuration, such as strips or a chevron pattern, to ensure optimal visibility from different angles.

Difference Between Standard Reflective Tape and DOT-C2 Reflective Tape:

  1. Regulatory Compliance:

    • Standard Reflective Tape: Regular reflective tape may not necessarily meet the specific standards set by regulatory authorities like the DOT.

    • DOT-C2 Reflective Tape: This type of tape complies with the regulations outlined by the U.S. Department of Transportation, ensuring that it meets specific visibility and performance standards.
