Install in 3 Steps: Recycled Plastic Speed Bumps

Install with Steel Spikes (for asphalt and gravel only)

You Will Need:

  • High-speed hammer drill with a 7/16" masonry bit
  • Small sledge hammer
  • Steel spikes (18" for gravel or older asphalt)
  • Butyl tape and hand roller (for applying tape)
  • 1) Position speed bump where you'd like to install it. Mark where pre-sunk bolt holes sit. Remove speed bump.
  • 2) Drill each marking. Clean and dry area. Apply two strips of butyl tape along the length of speed bump's underside -- one strip at each edge. Reposition speed bump so pre-sunk bolt holes align with drilled pavement holes. Press firmly into the pavement.
  • 3) Hammer spikes through pre-sunk bolt holes and pavement, starting with the center hole. Spikes should be snug against the counterbore holes.
