Does New York City need a new Traffic Safety Strategy?<\/h3>\r\nFormer NYPD commissioner Bill Bratton wants more police enforcement for traffic safety in New York City. During a recent\u00a0Transportation Alternatives<\/a>\u00a0forum, Bratton advocated for the \u201cbroken window\u201d theory \u2013 where enforcement cracks down on smaller violations in order to prevent serious ones. In Philadelphia, Speeding can now Trigger a Red Light<\/h3>\r\nPhiladelphia\u2019s Kelly Drive \u2013 where the average motorist speed is over 20 mph above the limit \u2013 has begun experimenting with traffic signals that respond directly to speeding.
